There are some prerequisites for Kodama and Mizuho classes.
Hayate (5 years old as of August 31 ~ Lower Elementary School Grades)
No prior knowledge of Japanese is required.
This is a class in which students are introduced to hiragana, and aiming to spark interests in Japan and the Japanese language.
Kodama (2nd - 5th Graders)
Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of Basic Japanese
This class is for students who already have a good grasp of hiragana and other basic Japanese skills described below. A placement test will be conducted prior to enrollment.
Hiragana
Be able to decode Hiragana characters and read Hiragana words.
Understand the correct stroke order for writing them.
* They are not yet expected to be able to write all Hiragana characters from memory.

This a class for students who can already read and write hiragana, katakana and 1st grade kanji (Level 10), comprehend and compose basic Japanese sentences and conduct basic conversation in Japanese. Placement Test will be conducted prior to enrollment.
